C-DUBBZ: MYKE, your options are to either pay the ticket or hire a lawyer to fight for you and hopefully get it dismissed. Just the other night i was sitting waiting for a client on 6th ave and 9th street. I saw a cabbie who got hailed on the west side of the street and he was in the middle lane, he put his blinker on and stopped and picked up his fare but what he didn't know was there was a cop in that left lane and i guess he couldn't wait 5-10 seconds for the cabbie to drive off or maybe he just didn't like that the cabbie didn't put his hazards on but the second he pulled away, the cop pulled him over right away and gave him a ticket. For what? I'm not sure but all i know is he lost his fare because she got out and hailed another cab and he ended up with a ticket. Moral of the story is always check your mirrors before doing stupid things because this city is very hungry and these cops are just targeting the cabbies and that's not right, but if you drive smart then you should be fine, it all starts with you, the driver!

C-DUBBZ: MYKE, that sucks to hear but there really isn't any answer because they do this all the time to trap people. The trap is that they know people do not want to be behind them so they go 5-10 MPH when speed limit is 30 MPH and they know this but they just don't care. What i do whenever i see them do this, is i make a turn at the next block asap because they are just out for one reason and one reason only, TO GIVE TICKETS! and they also do not like getting passed so don't do that neither (that happened with me once with a highway cop).

Just a cabby?: E.H., u see only half empty. Half full goody is E-Hailing approval. Only dumb phone users will street hail on OB. They can bump into on the street, but by chance. In Manhattan, street hail is efficient, but in OB, not, because of not supply n demand but distribution dilemma in the past. DIALing was more efficient. Street hailing's opportunity cost has been longer waiting time by phone dialing passenger. See u can't just increase the number to meet both sides. But now E-Hialing App flies over wearing cape. Is this street hailing? Dialing? Oh it's E-hailing!

Just a cabby?: Sorry it would cost many lives bounced, flying, crashed n mangled before the city starts enforcing bikes. Just looking at average pedestrians in NYC, I know they r not savvy in crossing. They don't drive! Now they can speed on bikes looking at walk sign? Good luck in Lincoln Square, why not some more flowers in planters n tomb stones (ready for tragedy). Ready for bikers speeding wrong direction in Columbus Circle. Mr.Columbus statue is dropping the jaw at the chaotic scene. Carriage horses r starting to laugh. Pigeons r gathering to look down n ask who got bird brains (btw, they r excellent in flying through traffic n have built-in GPS) Taking up so much space here, I will comment more later under the surely coming up hot issue: Bikes in Big Apple (Manhattan Island not Other boroughs or other cities without famous skyline). bad/sad/fad

CreditCardCabbie: Would you share the sidewalk with the bicyclist, why not? Is it OK to share the streets and avenues with the bicyclist between cars, pedi-cabs, tractor trailers, horse buggies, buses and taxicabs? Motor vehicle has bumpers; bicyclist has nothing to protect them! And we know that in this city, the solid line and the designated bike lane means nothing for them. They're tourists and like most youth, they're ignoring safety rules. These blue rental Citi bikes, with other bicyclist should be in the designated bike lanes or bike paths! The police should be enforcing these rules, but they're busy writing summons to cabdrivers.
