The New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) is
pleased to inform the medallion taxicab industry that the Grand Central
Partnership, in cooperation with the MTA Police Department, the NYC
Department of Transportation and the TLC will be operating a new taxi
stand at the northwest corner of 43rd Street and Vanderbilt Avenue,
conveniently located across from Grand Central Terminal.
This new taxi stand, which will be operational as of Monday, April 7,
will offer commuters an alternative site to hail taxicabs at Grand Central
Terminal, in addition to the existing taxi stand on East 42nd Street at
Vanderbilt Avenue. A Grand Central Partnership taxi dispatcher will staff
the new taxi stand Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and
Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

That taxi stand on 43rd street is not going to work. We need the taxi stand inside the station itself like used to be before 9/11/2001
The Taxi Stand is Always parked by police cars or delivery vans. If you get a chance to park at the taxi stand and wait for fare, you will keep on waiting because people get the cabs on vanderbilt 43rd and 44th street side.
yeah, uhh, what taxi stand?
To Jose. Regarding your comment on Grand Central Taxi Stand, you said it should be left inside, and not out on 43rd street. You sure said a mouthful. Do you notice that taxi regulators are always moving taxis further away from their work.
You have to ask, who approaches the TLC with these suggestions, and then WHO is it who benefits? Those hanging around the former cab stand who are asked about cabs, handed a card perhaps?
What changes in ridership happen naturally with the moving of the cab stand outside the station? Do the limousines aor Black Cabs move in?
