Starting on November 3, 2008, accessible taxicabs will receive priority when being dispatched at JFK Airport. The Port Authority of NY and NJ will sponsor this pilot program as an incentive to encourage taxicab drivers to provide service to people with disabilities.
Accessible taxicabs must have the new, blue accessible logo on the front hood of their cars to
participate in this program. For more information on the logo, please visit the TLC website at

Priority? Accessible taxicab drivers will make a lot more trip to JFK and back to the city! $$$
I refuse to colaborate with the City or with the TLC since neither of them colaborate with me or make my working conditions easier. I had four traffic tickets and one TLC just this year alone. The police are on us, the TLC are on us and We do not have the legal freedom to talk on the phone with our family or to other drivers in the job. I will never drive those cars. My company where I do work, my garage, does not help me in anything when I do have tickets. I have to look for my own lawyer. In any case I get help from my union, the Taxi Workers Alliance. I can find a lawyer for less money. In response to the TLC and the City I will never drive one of these accesible car or colaborate with them in any program. Specially with this commissioner or this mayor.

who cares..staying at kenndy is a waste of time anywhy..
I turn down fairs to jfk..I just tell them no..
The only time I will go to jfk is a 3 pm to 3:15 pm that why when I’m coming back ..I go straight to the garage..$45 to travel 40 miles round trip..
GTFOH..
they should have priorty, so they can help people with disabilites, happy to hear this good news.
Accessible Taxicabs (ATs) was introduced by TLC, with a aim, to care people with disabilites, But these ATs are being misused as it becomes a source of commerce, thus defeating the MAIN AIM.
I like to share that Why other cab drivers have to wait minimum two hours more than these ATs? I have seen many ATs refusing disabled and needy people in front of Hospitals because they have to come back to JFK to make $$$$$$$$$$ only.
I feel; the real mission to care disabled is not fulfilled rather it hurts many cabbies.

Requesting attention to NYPD traffic board:
There was a tme when yellow cab was not a direct source of income to the city, but now 50 cent per ride X 14000 cabs X 2 shift X average 25 ride per cab per shift= ????? wow
good sum of money city is making every day ( although customer is paying 50c..but via yellow cab). System has changed , yellow cab got GPS, NYPD police and parking officers never changed, they give the same ticket eventhough there is no or little mistake. I am not saying they should stop giving ticket…all I am saying theycould be little considerate to the cabbies. They should understand a ticket cost the cabbie $100 +lawyer $150 + money to pay to court after deission+ time & energy and working a shift a cabbie earn in average $100. So a cabbie get a ticket , he should work three shift ( 36 hour) for free. What a scenario…So requesting to the NYPD board, if you can instruct your officers to be little considerate to the cabbies….of course they need to punish the real bad ones.
