Think you have trouble getting a cab in New York City? Imagine being in a wheelchair and hailing a taxi. It turns out many of the so-called accessible cabs are almost impossible for people in wheelchairs to fit in; a problem many blame on the taxi limousine commission. Arnold Diaz has this “Shame” report.

Other models of wheelchair taxis have been approved for use, though now everybody is upset over the dispatch system.

To Disabled NYC. What dispatch system is everybody upset about?

GPS dispatching means NYC cabbies DO AS TOLD Greenbaum Sherman, et al.
Unbeknownst to NYC cabbies the over-elaborate credit card processor system with GPS DIM and PIM is 7/8 of a dispatch system, that is why it was installed with DIM Driver Info Monitor and PIM Passenger Info Monitor [the ADVERTISING rights slipped into fleet garage cabs AND private owner cabs]. The BIG CASH [billions] coming out of all this is the ADVERTISING REVENUE and then soon COMPUTER DISPATCHING WEEKLY DUES for all the private owners. Total control, told what to do, where to go, when to do it, and paying dispatch dues besides. None of the elaborate circus performance systems and advertising gimmicks were designed to give drivers and riders a safe ride from point A to point B. All of the credit card baloney could have been done with a purchased meter, a backseat slider, and a small monthly airtime charge. These installed systems right now at a stated, many times inflated cost of over $10,000 per system are [SURPRISE[ 7/8 of a dispatch READY TO GO as soon as the GIANT BRAINS OCTOPUS MACHINE [ONE FOR GREENBAUM, ONE FOR SHERMAN] IS LINKED BY SOFTWARE TO THE ENTIRE CREDIT CARD SUBSCRIBER FLEET. By dispatch, cabbies time is cut in half going to job, no one there, other cities’ cabbies hate it. TOTAL TAKEOVER. Are NYC cabbies going to sit still for it or will NYC remain UNDISPATCHED? Ask Ms. Bhairvai Desai of the NYTWA Alliance.
