Keita: 646-641-6868: DAY- Driver I am looking for car. I live in Uptown, Mankattan.
Taxiguy: Absence of traffic or transportation intelligence for NYC in B's administration. Why? Two important appointed commissioners of DOT n TLC have background nothing to do with transportation.
yahoo: If they put sign to hail a cab on street as they did on lex ave. It will help every one.
Dave: The Taxi Industrial Complex show was the most informative radio program on WBAI. Thanks to CreditCardCabbie for posting the weblink to hear the show. You must hear the show, if you care about your job and the future of cab driving.
Weekly driver: Have you seen the NYC Cycling Map at the NYC Bus stops? What's about for a safe, summons-free zone map for yellow cab drivers? How about educating cab riders how and where to hail a cab safely? Solid lines and more bike lanes to keep cabbies summonsed, because people hailing cabs anyway, until bike rentals hit the roads.
sunman: I can not figure out of how you can make a wheelchair accesable taxi without sucrificing fuel economy and comfort for regular passengers. It won't work .
CreditCardCabbie: The white MV-1 Access-a-Ride cabs are on the roads. I noticed; all of them brought into service without the partition! Yesterday I saw the first yellow MV-1 cab with the L-shaped partition. I asked the driver about that partition, he said prefers the straight partition just like in the Ford Crow Victoria cab, but the TLC prefers the L-shaped.
saif: Location: Coney Island and Ave K I have a clean license and exprience of 11 years. I am looking for a car to drive in the night shift. Contact # 347-309-3104
Weekly driver: Sunman! - If you work continuously without time breaks, you will make more than $100 for yourself. The problem is, you'll never know when the cop pull you over. You're doing everything by the rules, but with zero tolerance, they got you just about for anything! Some cabbie got few tickets, but the majorities are getting that, almost every week. We can't escape from it.
CreditCardCabbie: For those who didn't hear the Taxi Industrial Complex Show, here is the opportunity to hear it again. (It was broadcasted first time in March.) You will find the weblink at "TLC Greenlights iPad Pilot Program For NYC Taxis" (March 2012) article's comment.
MARIO: The word, consecutive, is confusing. If driver takes a break before 12 consecutive hours, it is ok?
sunman: On average so called cabbies (unskillful laborers) make $100 per shift. You spend 15 to buy food, 15 to get to work, 30 for medical insurance, 30 for pension fund, 20 for taxes, 30 for kids college, 50 for appartment, 30 for car, 40 for phone and electric bill. Only, if somehow you can get few dollars and go back to your country, this job makes sence.
Hitman: I may suppost 3 shifts per day. 8-16,16-00,and 00-8 with different prices. More humanly and with making enough money.
Hitman: If you keep getting bogus tickets, turn your dmv license into CT state. no more points! If a cop asks you to change it, then time to move to CT state.
TaxiRadio: It's just a friendly reminder!
Tune into Taxi Insider’s Radio show on every SUNDAY morning from 10:00AM – 11:00AM on AM 970! – Don’t miss it! –
Circulate the taxi news, and let fellow cab drivers know about it!
Hitman: A friend of my received a warning from tlc due to overtime thats more than 12 hours.
hesham muhamed: looking for a permanent day shift car in Astoria. 13476563870
CreditCardCabbie: Honestly, with nine hours of work could you make enough money to pay the bills and support your kids? How's about having a leisure time with your child, and family? In this city, cabdrivers are the most summonsed group of people. Soon as the cabbie on the road, they're hunted with all sort of tickets. And then stresses breaks into more health and heart problems, and eventually getting sick. Cabdrivers are already burdened so much with the heavy traffic-jams and breathing that extremely toxic fumes from every vehicle's exhausts! Driving a yellow cab never was really rewarding job, but now changed so much over the years. It must be a better solution for protecting every hardworking cabdrivers and let's do something good about it!
MARIO: Btw, visit TLC site, u can find summon record to see it for yourself. Good news, I see the light in the end of 11 year long tunnel.
MARIO: I don't think so. Like rate 4 overcharge, TLC is proving themselves either sleeping on the job or up to punish n harm the drivers. TLC could detects it much earlier n gives warning first if public safety is at risk.
mansur: If you tie yourself to a hybrid battery you ,ll become an enviroment friendly terrorist .Another slogan for Obama compaign:destroy Israel with clean nuclear energy
JACKD: TLC is doing the right thing if they are giving tickets for driving more than twelve hours casue they do not want you to get into accidents, or kill someone or any such problem. It's not worth driving more than four hours without a break, so in 12 hours shift take 4 twenty mins break.
crazy dude: WTF is this B.S...to fine $3900. This mean TLC want you to drive more than 12 hours to pay the fine, or how else you are going to make that money, $3900 net is what you take home for 6 weeks after all taxes. They should fine the garages for allowing driver to work over 12 hour.
gurvindr singh: i am looking for a permanent dayshift driver in queen village, will get a hybrid car in a month call me 347-845-1798
